The third quarter of 2023 saw significant activity among the top social apps in Europe, with varied trends in weekly downloads, revenue, and active users. Here’s a closer look at the performance of TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Threads, and Likee - Short Video Community.

TikTok experienced a steady flow in weekly revenue, with figures hovering around $10M, peaking at approximately $10.7M in mid-July. Weekly downloads saw a peak at around 2.2M in late August, before a gradual decline to 1.8M by the end of September. Active users showed a slight downward trend from 200M to 198M throughout the quarter.

Instagram saw a notable spike in weekly revenue, reaching over $1.1M in mid-July, while generally maintaining figures between $400K and $900K for most of the quarter. Weekly downloads remained relatively stable, fluctuating between 1.3M and 1.4M. Active users held steady at around 195M to 198M.

Facebook maintained consistent weekly revenue, averaging around $240K with minor fluctuations. Weekly downloads were stable, consistently around 1M, with a slight increase in mid-August to 1.07M. Active users also remained steady, slightly decreasing from 273M to 269M over the quarter.

Threads, a newer entrant, saw a significant initial surge in downloads, peaking at 5.7M in early July, but this quickly tapered off to around 300K by the end of September. Active users followed a similar pattern, peaking at around 4.8M in early July and stabilizing around 3.3M towards the end of the quarter.

Likee - Short Video Community displayed stable weekly revenue, averaging around $43K. Weekly downloads fluctuated slightly, averaging around 450K. Active users showed a slight decline from 14.5M at the beginning of the quarter to 13.7M by the end of September.
